It seems to me that the number of posts on the forum is down since the “new improved” version hit. Anyone else see this?[%-)]
No…you seem to be doing a good job at keeping the count high! How are you comparing the count? There have always been slow and busy days…

Lou,
It’s actually up. But that may be because folks are asking questions about the new format. It also fluctuates as per the time of day, day of the week/weekend, and season.

I guess I may be counting the MRR posts, not the ones about the new forum format. Being that we are in the “modeling season”, I guess I just expected more MRR posts - also, being retired now I spend a lot more time on the forum - I WANT MORE TO READ!![:-,]
Lou–
I’ve noticed that the “General Discussion” forum has remained fairly stable since the new conversion, but if you look on the “Layouts and Layout Building” forum, it’s really MOVIN’! Every time I get on, there’s a new subject or question. That seems to be where a lot of the action is, at least at this time.

Yes, Lou, I’ve noticed it. Were it not for all the postings regarding the new forum’s operating problerms, we wouldn’t have a whole lot to read currently. However, I think it started well before the format change and I’ve also been seeing a great many of what I consider to be “fluff” postings recently. The same has been true of the Atlas forum to a degree, with a notable decrease in postings actually addressing the modeling aspect of the hobby.
One often sees something of a slow down in posting after the kids return to school in September but this is usually offset by what is posted becoming more seriously about doing the hobby. Not so this year, in my opinion.

There just haven’t been many topics lately that I feel the need to post to.
I believe theres more things to do or worry about than coming online and posting… I for one would rather spend time modeling or doing something else. Also theres times that people post a question and no one answers them. I for one am one of those people so I basically dont post much. I use to but seems either A. I’m ignored by others or B. People really dont have any idea on what I’m asking or they dont know…
Another factor is probably a lot of people on here asked questions and got rude comments about spelling or grammer. Let alone picked on by other members due to choices they made on a certain train brand etc. So that stops a lot of people from posting.
I can’t even tell anymore! I just know it took me three years or so to reach my first 1000 posts and now in less than a year I almost made it to 2000. I don’t know… and yes I like the new forums, but I hate the silhouette for those of us that don’t have pictures! There! I said it! Now to get on with life…
BTW Ivanhen, thanks for the info you sent. Much appreciated.
