Any one no what the post rank on your profile is?? Thanks. Tim
Yes, that is where you are in respect to others for total posts.
Just click on your user name in anything you post. I guess you need to be somewhere above 800 to rank.
[:)]
trainfreek is somewhere around 128 in rank. With my lowly 235+ posts, I rank at zero.
[:P]
Or we could look at it like I’m ahead of everybody, since zero is a higher rank, uh, I mean less than one – uh, I never was good at math.

Not a big deal, but more like an interesting tidbit of info. We’ve always got the post count to go by in sizing someone up we’re not familiar with. I’m kind of glad they did away with the whole stars thing, as that seemed to inspire more useless posts than anything. I usually check out the last few posts by someone to size them up in terms of whether to take them seriously, or decide they’re – well, probably not someone worth talking with directly.
[;)]
Fortunately, that is usually not a problem on these friendly forums.

So do we all have unique “ranks?” Isn’t that like stars, only incredibly more detailed? Spacemouse is #1. I can just imagine everyone at the next big Timonium show running around with those huge foam #1 fingers with “Spacemouse #1” on them.
EDIT: OK, I found the answer to my own question. Ranks are not unique. Fergie and I are both at Rank 4.
It is based upon “range” of posts, ie 1500 to 2000 may be rank 125 or something like that. I am also happy to see the stars go away because some people thought they were going for promotions to 5 star generals, and their posts were frequesnt and very childish at times. Now we have settled down to MRR info for the most part.
Well, appearently I’m a 4, whatever that means.
This does seem to be like a more complicated version of stars, and possibly even more pointless.
I guess it’s OK, as long as it doesn’t mean that I’m the 4th biggest blabbermouth. It might be true, but I don’t really want to know about it, ya know?
Phil, you have made 2998 posts to this forum, that is why you are ranked #4. Now here is what is going to happen: The Democrats are going to more than likely win the White House in 2008 because Americans have a propensity for change, any change, good or bad as long as it is a change. The Dems are going to re-instate the DRAFT!!! And all those who have post numbers above 2500…welllllllll, you know the sad story…either run to Canada or get drafted. LOL
Not me! I’m going to hide in a Kadee Draft Gear Box and drink Draft beer. [:D]
On the other hand, I’d be proud to serve under General Spacemouse…
I’m a 16 but I have no idea what its for. Its nice to be 16 again, lol.
Who cares? Can’t we get away from these silly games about who’s ranked where. If you’ve got something good to say, post it. If not then just read what everyone else posts.
Post rank? I missed that one. Guess we can restart the useless post thread so everyone can start jacking their count up.[(-D]
Anyone notice that Bergie still has his 5 stars?[:-^]
Enjoy
Paul
If I end up drafted, you all better get used to speaking in Arabic, because in my current health I’m only going to hinder our efforts overseas! [;)][B)][:D][X-)]
All I wanted was my fifth star. This is too complicated for me. Besides my lunch is done and I am going to work on my trestle for a while.
I never paid much attention to ranks anyway. All ranks seem to do is encourage trolls and idiots to post pointless crap and flood the board in hopes of ranking up.
Seems like its just a way to show some are here more than others!(Bragging Rights?) Gee, must be nice to have that much time on your hands there guys,(with all the posts) and banging out more silly drivel!!! We are all ers of one scale or another, and answering someones question if they have a problem, I feel is for the common good of the body of us who field those questions.
No ranks please…we are all equals here, just some of us have more experience or time in the hobby…that does not automatically make us better modellers. We all learn from each other, and share what we know with the newer folks. jc5729
I’m a 64. Does anyone know what that means? Does anyone care? I was glad to see the stars–with the screen name for all to see–go away. These post ranks can only be seen by checking someone’s profile–you have to go looking for them. I can’t imagine why anyone would go looking for someone else’s rank. They are meaningless anyway. Just as with stars, I’m sure there are those with high ranks because they drivel a lot but rarely have anything substantive to say. I’m also sure there are many with low ranks whose few comments are insightful and helpful. All they show is how talkative a person is, and I don’t see why that is helpful. I would probably have never even looked up my own had it not been for curiosity aroused by this thread.

The only time I ever worried about “rank” was when I was in the Army and my “rank” on the seniority list at work and that was for exercising my “bumping rights”…[:D]
I don’t particularly care for or about the rank system. At least it’s buried in the user’s profile pages - unlike the stars that were right out in plain view on the old forum. What’s important is what individuals contribute to the forum - not matter what their rank or post count is.
Okay, zip…zoom! Off to other threads! I need to get my Most Active Member count up so that I’m in the Top 10 again…[swg][(-D]
Tom
Personally, I’m glad the stars are gone.
I’m also glad that nobody can figure this system out.
Time to go model something!
