Post War Box Repairs

Not too long ago (probably longer than I think), there was good article in CTT regarding restoring old damaged Lionel boxes. Can’t remember which issue…can you?

Am wanting to “flatten out” warped boxes…open them up at seams, lie flat, then…? put clean board on them with “ton of bricks?” or…? Did someone say you could lightly mist the unprinted side with water first? Ideas?

thanks a lot…you guys are great!

Sorry this may not help, but I just had to mention this activity must be right up there with counting rivets before deciding whether a model is a good likeness of the prototype or not.

I put tape on the flaps that are about to tear…beyond that it’s a waste of my time.
