Is it really necessary to post identical questions on this forum AND the layout forums. Don’t the same people read both of them?
BB
no, most people would read both
If you are really blind how did you notice. sorry just read your member bio. didn’t mean any harm. Please except apology.
hey, ain’t that a little harsh? i mean if your really blind how did you notice? that’s a little rude, isin’t it
Please read above
most people post the same questions because they are a] dont know how to use the search feature here at MR b)want someone else to do the work for them and offer no thanks for our efforts c) barely know how to use a computer at all
tom
Not looking for flame war. Just thought it was more appropriate on the layout forum after posting here. Please except my apology. So Tom I always thank people for there help and try to do things on my own. As far as my computer skills go I am self taught an not bad at it. I can run Autocads and most drafting programs. I design alot of MR stuff on my system. So if you would like some help let me know I might be able to help you.
ok bgardner sounds good. if you do an advanced search on say weathering or decalin and go back 2-3 years theres tons of threads on those subjects, but i think its mainly new folks here and not sure how to navigate the site
tom
I have posted the same topic in two different areas before, but it was when I couldn’t find anything. So, I was kind of looking for two different answers, one from the Model Railroader point of view, and the other from the Prototype Information side. They can turn up different results, and generate more information at times.
There are numerous reasons that could be applied here.
i am guilty of posting the same question twice, simply because i forgot how i started the first one and couldnt find it.
i was tryin to say some dont do their homework first is all. sorry bout the confusion
tom
I think the posting should simply be common sense but in reality many folks don’t know there are different forums. They just don’t look around. I always see model railroad questions on the prototype forums and vice versa.
Often a “wrong forum” question gets a “try over there” reply but this will always happen.
Life goes on.
