Posting pictures and searching posts

I have 2 questions, both of which I am sure have been answered before. First, I want to learn how to post pictures using photobucket, and second I want to figure out how to search the previous posts so I don’t have to ask the first question again! As I have stated before I am a computer dinosaur so I need a step by step description of how to use Photobucket even down to the way to copy and paste from Photobucket to the MRR forums. If you know of a web site that explains this clearly and simply I would appreciate the address or, somebody please take the time to walk me (and I suspect many others) through the process. Please don’t assume that I have any required knowledge of how to do this stuff - I really don’t understand the computer stuff very well at all.

Thanks

Dave

Hi,

I am a computer dinosaur myself, but I find posting pictures to this forum quite easy.

Here is what I did (and do):

  • Open an account at photobucket
  • Upload your picture to this account
  • Copy the “direct link”
  • Click on the film strip symbol above your post and paste the link into the “Link to Media” box
  • Click “OK”

That should put your picture into your post.

When you remove the picture from your photobucket account, it will also be removed from your post.

Photobucket registration:

  1. Go to web address http://www.photobucket.com

  2. Click on “sign up” - upper right hand corner.
Will take you to this webpage: http://register.photobucket.com/

Pick a username and a password, enter your email address, date of birth etc
Make a note of username and password - you will need that again later
Click on “sign me up”

Next screen they try to fool you into getting a “pro” subscription instead of a free one.
Read text carefully, then click on small link at bottom that says “No thanks”

Next screen, accept default setting “public” for albums.
Make a mental note to not upload images you don’t want random strangers to see

  1. You are now ready to upload your first image

Uploading images to photobucket

  1. Go to photobucket

Thanks Ulrich and Stein - I will give it a try.

Dave

Hi everyone: I want to practise posting pictures so if you don’t mind I am going to try a few more times.

Thanks

Dave
