For those who aren’t familiar with “forum code” syntax -
There have been several ‘links’ posted lately that didn’t hyperlink to the desired page. I don’t mind cutting and pasting the URL (webpage address) into another browser window, but the addition of a few keystrokes of code will allow you to turn the URL into a hyperlink:
…Sorry, that is a bit of confusion {to me}. You make the example of , and then appear to us { }…?? But then, I realize some of the above is well known by some.
If Larry had used the [ and the ] in the example, the message would have tried to display his links, and he wouldn’t have been able to show how to type it. By using { and }, the message displayed all the text to demonstrate how to post. If you want to hyperlink, just remember to post it just like Larry did, except put [ any place a { is, and ] anyplace where } is.
There is another way to create a URL link. You can select (hilite) text in your message and then click on the “chain link” icon (top row, near the middle). A new window will appear. Type (or copy and paste) the URL into the top box and click “Insert”. Voila! A new link.
