Postwar boxes damaged/destroyed

I’ve just experienced a loss of some Powstwar boxes as a result of water damage during a move. The storage/warehouse employees simply threw the wet boxes away. Can anyone recommend a good way to claim the loss for insurance purposes?

Is there a book on values, or an informative paragraph by price guide authors that might help in determining values?

If you can determin the difference in value of the item with and without the box the difference is what I’d claim. Or go onto the auction sites and see what original boxes are going for. If you can find them repro boxes are available though they will lack the inserts.
