Postwar Lionel Train Display, Dearborn Heights, Michigan

I have installed a Postwar Lionel train display at my local library and it will be up through March and April.

Caroline Kennedy Library, Dearborn Heights, Michigan

Great looking display, well done! Can you tell us the “whys and wherefores”, that is, is there a purpose to the display, were you invited to do it, are there other themes in other display cases such as “toys”, “nostalgia”, and so on?

At any rate, I’ll bet you’ll cause an up-tick in activity at the local hobby shops!

Dave,

Great display…My son did a display like yours, excepting it was Hess Toy Trucks, when we moved to our current location and they opened a new library. Your display, and other posts to this forum give me inspiration. There is something special about the Lionel Trains and the 50s…That is when I grew up with mine… I like some of the new stuff, but the simplicity and that 50s era just does it for me. Thanks for your posts.

Looks great gives me idea of offering something like that to ours local Library But maybe try to do it like around Christmas

Super nice and a great idea![8D]

Nice display. I especially like the 627 44 Ton Switcher. That was my first engine waaaay back when.

I had it as a kid (and subsequently gave it away, does that sound familiar to anyone?) I bought one now to replace it on Ebay. lol.

Very Nice! Well Done! [Y] You just got my wheels turning! Thanks for sharing.
