power for Digitrax DCC

Guys
i have two HP printer power supplies from printers that have bitten the dust.

  1. HP cat no c4557-60004 - rating - input power is 100 -240v @ 1.0a
    Output power 18v @ 1.7a
    2)Same info
are these power supplies useable for Digitrax power?

Nope, not enough power (amps). In the event of a short, you’ll probably just blow the power supply, as those types of supplies often have a non-replaceable fuse inside. Or possibly damage your booster since there liekly will not be enough current to trip the protection circuit .
Best stick with a unit designed for the job, like the PS515, the NCE PS15, or the Magna-Force 615.
