Power question about Prodigy Advance DCC

Here is a quick question for someone who knows. I know some DCC systems support additional boosters to up total amps for a layout and some do not. I assume that that Prodigy Advance supports extra boosters, but then again I know I should never assume anything. Someing in the know tell me for sure, does this system support additional boosters to raise the amperage of the layout?

Ron

Yes, it does. MRC even sells one that will work great, althouhg I would STRONGLY recommend using some sort of electronic circuit breaker such as those sold by Tony’s Train Exchange, with that MRC Power Station 8, which is an 8-amp booster. Unless you are running large scale and really need 8 amps into all the track all the time, if you break your layout up into power districts using electronic circuit breakers, a derailment and short of one train won’t shut down your entire layout, just that section.

Thanks, Randy. I do plan to use breakers and 6 power districts. This is exactly the info I needed.
