I just purchased from trainworld a Aristo U25B. I intended to use with my LGB power supply and track. Instruction say power supply(ps) is not compatible and reccomend using a converter to go between ps and track to make compatible. Does this work OK? Should I just get an aristo power pack. I rather just use the lgb pack.
Are thieir power supply workarounds. Can I run LBG locomotives with power from an Aristo Powersupply. I didn’t know they were incompatible as far as power supplies go
I have no experience with LGB or AristoCraft power supplies, but they all should put out around 16 Volts DC at full throttle. I don’t know why there would be any difference, unless that locomotive has some type of command control receiver in it. Read through the documentation that came with your locomotive and see if it has an AristoCraft Train Engineer receiver in it. If it does, then yes, it will not run with the LGB power pack.
I put together my set in the attic and the u-25b ran fine. I trasnscribe what the instruction book has it when I get it back to work where I have high speed internet service. Their instructions and documnetation leave something to be desired.
On the Aristo Train Engineer (Crest) there is a switch position for Aristo engines only. All others need to be switched to the opposite side. It is also a walk-around unit. It works well with low amperage draw engines
I have 2, 13.5amp Aristo Elite Powerpacks and 2, MRC Controlmaster 20 Powerpacks and my 45+ LGB Engines run fine on them. My Bachmann, Delton, Aristo and Hartland engines run fine too! Iuse the Aristo/Crest Train engineer units to control them. It all works GREAT!!!
