[?]Back in the late 1960’s early 70’s Bachmann & Athearn manufactured a HO scale Auto-Train Loco. I am looking for the “A” Unit for either one or both. I have tried all of the shows for the past year and have had no luck. Any one have any idea where I might be able to find these items?
Most people on this board are O scale toy train people so are not likely to answer you. I think your best bet to find one of these is Ebay.
Bachmann made these into the 80’s but not as far back a s the 60’s I think. They still make the cars witch were pretty accurate for the train but not in Autotrain paint.It may take a while but I am sure one will pop up. I used to live within a few miles of the Autotrain Lorton terminal and rember them well. I have very fond memories of the RF&P too. The Lorton terminal was above a very narrow tunnel for cars You had to go through one at a time. The area has developed quite a bit since I moved away in the mid 90’s. I would be curious if this archaic narrow tunnel was still there.
