Power

I am honestly just curious of how you power you trains.

I have 2 TE’s and one old power pack.

I use an ultima 10 amp power supply, with a T. E. each to his own way to power his trains. ben

i use lgbs mts system , as it easey, and i get full use of the sound units

The AirWire900 Wireless DCC system from CVP Products for all of my electrically-powered engines, and live steam.

Blue Streak 12amp 3 channel. been working for over 16 years!

I started using the TE with a 10A ultima after my visit to Bennys RR in PA. Ben has an excellent RR and I was impressed by the TE. It’s a very powerful system, easy to use and affordable. I’m sure there are better ones with more features on the market, but I’ve been very satisfied with mine and wish I had got it sooner. I like simplicity and don’t have much use for all the gadgetry, just make it simple and rugged.

I use an aristo elite mounted under house and switched from back porch. Underground line from power pac to layout where it is fused using marine in line fuses. Have ability to interrupt at fuses and insert a manual controller. Otherwise use dpdt switch to change between trackside TE or onboard TE. Use 10 amp fuses at junction box, and 7.5 amps on all leads in and out of trackside TE.

Lots of fuses saves a lot of crawling under house!

I use on-board Train Engineer R/C and NiMH 14.4 volt batteries.

Right now I am just using a DC pack, but after about 2 years of this, I am sick and tired of track power and will slowly converting to Radio Control battery power.

Basic TE with LGB power

I have mostly 27 and 75 mhz Aristo on-boards in a mixture of brand trains on track power but along with the TE run the DCS system for the MTH trains ,at times both together.
Powered by 30 amp power supply, 15 amp fuse.

RCS & onboard batteries

Hi,
I use the Lenz-DCC system with an 8-amp-transformer and lots of sound-functions. In addition I´m just adding a live-steam loco to my roster (thow it´s a kit and I´ve to build it first, but hopefully it´ll be able to run until Christmas).
Kind regards
Klaus
