A little more information would be useful…
How many axles does your power bogie require, (B0 or C0), what size wheels, and last but by no means least -what gauge are you using 0, 1 or 3?

If its a single powered truck, Aristo sells replacement bricks that are great for kitbashes;

This is the replacement brick for the FA1 and RS3, its reliable but light, you need seperate weights in the lokie and its rather Big!, but has the advantage that you just plug the wires together and your off and running

This is the replacement for the Centercab switch its more compact, has lead weights built into it, but its wiring has to be spliced together, red/black - green/blue. This is most common brick I’ve used, they are very powerfull for their size.
Bachmann also has powered trucks for their siderod switcher. I found a couple of them on e-Bay and redid the drive mechanism on a 1:20.3 Northeast Narrow Gauge Dunkirk steam engine using them. It makes a strange looking beast but with lots of traction and power.
