Does anyone know if a kit is offered like DIY shows on Workin’ on the Railroad, except for O guage? Thanks much, Jerry
Atlas-O has some, but theyre incredibly pricy, starting around $1000 and going upwards of $8,000… There are also websites that show layout designs and list all the parts you need to buy, so its a sort of DIY kit as long as you can find all the suggested pieces…
The Atlas-O packages can be found at
https://secure.atlasrr.com/ato1/items.asp?CartId={AA26C3CA-D230-4B4B-A274-7A5BEVEREST2E825B0E}&Cc=010&iTpStatus=0&Tp=&Bc=
Samples of the second kind i mentioned can be found at
http://www.thortrains.net/marx/drlay275.html
and there are links to return to more pages of samples on the bottom…
Hope that helps some…
Thanks for your help, everyone here is most gracious! Jake
Something like this?
Wow, Groucho, never knew there was anything like that available.
You’re right, John. What a great idea. I never heard of this. Thanks, Groucho. Have you ever purchased anything from them?
Fred,
The guys at the train-station have some set-ups available. I don’t think it is as detailed as the DIY set that you saw, but has the track, etc. You can find it by browsing the web-site and I think you look under the “track” heading. If not, give them a call , they know their stuff.

I’ve never purchased anything from Kittworks, although I like their product. I saw their ad in an issue of CTT a year or so ago and checked out the website. Great prefab layouts that can hang on a wall. If you look at their layout ideas page you can see how they combine and how much they cost.
I would suggest one of the Atlas track packages. They are considerably cheaper if you buy them through a dealer. Try Bob Thatcher at http://www.amhobbiesonline.com/ , Island Trains http://www.islandtrains.com/ , or Wholesale Trains http://www.wholesaletrains.com/ .
I don’t think Bob Thatcher posts the package prices on his website but a quick email will get you those…
Hope this helps.
