Pre War Parking Lot surface - suggestions?

On The Blueboard Central I have used shingle material for street surfaces,

and cobblestone sheets from Lemax as the parking lot for the main station in town.

Do any of you have any other suggestions for what to use for parking lot surfaces? The era is pre war. I have more cobblestone material that I could use. I know I could paint the foam material, but then it wouldn’t be the Blueboard Cental anymore would It?

For extremely rudimentary roads I glue sawdust to strips of cardstock:

They don’t look like much but at least they’re easy to change around.

I use self adhesive black anti-skid strips meant to be used on stairs. That is, the wide variety. They look like asphalt. Except…concrete was the prevailing material back in the day In the past I have used a couple coats of concrete colored paint on thin basswood purchased at Micheal’s that is used for woodworking projects.
