Nice Job, but Too much money…
I bought a set of these units recently. I was extremely impressed with the LokSound sound. It is extremely realistic and even fun to play with. The units pull like nobodies business and sound and look good doing it. The only thing I have had a problem with is an unusual knack for them to derail for no apparent reason. Other than that, I am extremely happy with them.
looks good runs good

I wonder why in 2007 we still get truck frames which lack some depth and where the brakeshoes are not in line with the wheels. And why has the drawbar only one hole that spaces the bodies 4 feet apart? They easily could have drilled an other one at 3 feet. I did so on mine and it works fine. Actually I think the Proto 2000 model superior. Especially when you compare the PCM FAs to their own F 3s which are much better. One big plus though: The PRR has antennas.

Great writeup. I don’t like the performance in DCC with sound. The writeup didn’t define if both units were powered?

I have a set of the GN FA/FB. The road # that Precision Craft picked is somewhat curious to me. The GN didn’t have a lot of FA/FB’s, there were a couple of sets: 310 AB&C & 268 A & B, that the GN had new thu the middle 1960’s. The set that Precision Craft did was 440 A,B,C & D, which were pawned off to the SP&S after 1 1/2 or 2 years. The scheme that Precision Craft did for the GN is not totally correct. These units should have had RR Roman lettering rather than the Empire Builder style. Precision Craft also missed the low silver stripe that these units had. Also missing is the Alco - GE builder’s plate. On my FB unit, all the wheelsets were out of gauge. It wasn’t the easiest thing to regauge the wheelsets. The detail is nice & the sounds as far as I can determine are accurate. I think that for the price, the items I noted should have been not there.

Looked forward to getting a set of these in NYC livery, but will not because of the drawbar connector rather than coupled units.
I see always different properties of the performance between models of a manufacturer. For me as user give me this by driving in traction problems. The models have mostly a to fast speed. This model is slowly. (To slowly?) The German models have this problem too. This also by the same model engine! Has this problem not the intention of the engineers?

My friend has a pair of the PRR units and they run great and sound great, however I need Erie units, so I’ll wait to see if they will come out with that roadname.
What if a guy wants to run a “B” unit in between a couple of RS3’s? No couplers, jumper cables, why such a restriction or use?

I own an old Kemtron Fa and it show that there is magnific progress from forty years ago !! And it was a lot more expensive.
