President Polk Pacific

I have a Rivarossi 4-6-2 Pacific B&O blue and light grey with gold lettering called “President Polk”

I want to know if this locomotive did really existed.
Where can I find data about President Polk Pacific?

I want to buy some passenger cars matching this locomotive. What are the right passenger cars that match this locomotive?? (Color, livery, model and if possible manufacturers Athearn, Rivarossi IHC etc.)

The name and the railroad are correct, but the color scheme is not. When the B&O had the original 20 Class P-7 Pacifics built, they were named for the first 20 Presidents of the United States. They were originally painted very dark green with gold and red striping. When Diesels took over the top passenger schedules in the late 1930’s, the Presidents lost their names, and some were streamlined for the Royal Blue and Cincinnatian. They were finally painted Royal Blue, with no striping in the 1950’s and renumbered from 5300’s to 100’s. They were never painted Blue and Grey, that was used only on Diesels and passenger cars.

Hi Horacio,
See if you can find anything the B&O Museum in Baltimore, MD. (www.borail.org)or this site www.dgbn.com/train/index.html. I was there several years ago and I think there is a Pacific or two there. Maybe one is what your looking for.
