Preval?

Has anyone used one of these? Were the results acceptable?

Yes I have used them. I repainted a bike frame, results were so good a few years later I repainted a door on a car after a small fenderbender. Car was only 12 months old . Results were good enough that when I turned the lease in they never even new. Kept the extra Ins. money and bought some trains. [:D] As with anything prep and taking your time is key.

Thanks. Did you need to thin the paint to a certain viscosity to work best?

These sound interesting. Any idea where to buy them?

I know how to clean the jar, but how do you clean the actual spray nozel? [%-)]

jmm - No I did not thin any more than normal. I just followed the mixing directions the paint supplier directed. Paint, Laquer thinner and Hardner.

Dave - I bought mine at a autoparts store that also sold paint.

Buckeye - The jars are washable. The nozzle and aresol spray can are meant to be throw away. You can clean them though, just wash jar out and fill with the correct cleaning fluid or thinner and run through nozzle.

Just a follow up. I did use this sprayer, and the results are fine. I thinned the paint a little, but I think more thinning would make for a smoother result. It would also require more coats to build up. If you are painting with oil-based, as I was, that might get tedious. That said, I am satisfied with the results.

It says it will spray ALMOST any liquid. I’m guessing a McDonald’s milk shake is one of the few that it won’t be able to atomize.
