PreWar 0-6-0 Drive Wheel

Looking for Lionel prewar p/n 203M-19. It is the geared center drive wheel for the 203/201 switcher. Or…is there a suitable sub (from a prewar or post war 0-6-0) that will still work with the 203 valve gear

I am seeing that Jeff Kane (my go-to supplier) has available the 227-36 geared center wheel, for $7.00.

Now, as for compatibility. At a glance, I was able to find pictures of a geared end wheel for both the 203 and the 227, and visually they do not appear to have any differences. They have the same tooth count, 40 teeth.

Extrapolating from this, I suspect the center wheels must also have 40 teeth, and is probably identical in size between the two part numbers. I believe you can probably safely purchase a 227-36, and have it work in place of a 203M-19. You can also ask Jeff Kane.

If anyone else wants to weigh in, please do!

Caught a bit of a typo in my last post- 40 teeth, not 4! Hope nobody was left too confused. Fixed now :+1:
