Got back my 1668 and prewar Pullmans from getting the E-unit fixed and the passenger cars rewired. So, here’s my prewar varnish posing for the camera…

So impressive that the Batmobile, a GoBot and an Indian chief riding a triceratops have paused to gawk. ![]()
Still to be done: repair the air whistle in the 1668’s tender (I’m told it needs a new relay) and install an air whistle (courtesy of the Train Tender) in the 1688’s tender.

The streamliner update continues apace, with parts for the lighting upgrade arriving last week from TT. I’ve also modded a 9090-18 coupler to fit in the factory slot, so the streamliner will, when restored, be compatible with postwar knuckle couplers without requiring any further mods.

Onwards and upwards!
