Princeton Junction 1948

Okay - I’m sharing some Contact Prints, but if you are a New Jersey railfan I think you’ll find these interesting. My dad took these three images at Princeton Junction in 1948. First, three MP54s on the Dinky, including a Combine…

Next, the two story westbound depot (this is the only picture I have ever seen of this structure).

Finally, Nassau Tower and the electric substation behind it.

As to the trains going through here at speed, my dad did shoot them, but he didn’t get a single shot you’d want to see. Thanks for looking, and corrections are always welcome.

Thanks. Must have rodden the PJ&B about fifty times, and never saw anything but two MP-54’s on it, up to the time that the Jersey Arrows took over. Very intersting.

…Those look like brand new ties adjacent to the station platform. At that time, I suppose all installed by manual labor. {Photo 3}.
