I press 0002 for SV.
I press ENTER on Acceleration rate.

BUT IT NOT RUN!!!
WHAT’S WRONG!!!
I’m very confuse.
How can I do (Please suggess me step by step because I not expert in English)?
Can I not install decoder to cab front light and rear light for test motor before?
Can I reture one of Digitrax DZ123 decoder because It’s burn!!!
when I install it with Athearn C44-9W and MRC Prodigy Express I thing I install anything TRUE!
I use tape for separate between electric from wheel with motor in cab.
(If I can return it How can I do?).
Many decoders cannot be set on an address lower than 3, which is their factory setting. Try running your locomotive on address 3 and see if it runs. If it does, you should set it on an address higher than 3 if you intend to have more than one decoder-equipped locomotive.
Don’t press PROGRAM unless you want to change something in the decoder. I’m not familiar with the MRC Prodigy Express, but you just select the locomotive to run, and try address 3.
If that doesn’t work, then you will have to reprogram the decoder’s address. Try to reprogram it back to address 3 first and see if that works.
I think you have to have the locomotive on a separate programming track instead of trying to program it on the main line. With my NCE system, programming on the main line is only for CVs other than the locomotive address.
With the prodigy express you need 2 separate tracks. You need a programming track and main line track. The programming track is where you can change settings in your decoder, but the power is very low and you cannot run the engine. If you are trying to run the engine on the programming track it will not work no matter what you do. So make sure you are trying to run on the main line.
Thank you for your suggession…I try to do it already. I seperate from program track and main track and program on program track and move to run at main track. But it still not work!!!
I can’t be much help, but you should first take a close look at the work you have done. Are you positive that you have installed the decoder correctly? Have you tested the decoder out of the locomotive to be assured that it is a good one…maybe it is defective.
Finally, once you are sure that you have the installation correct, and that the decoder is serviceable, follow the instructions, with the loco on the programming track, for a full reset.
Once that is done, the decoder should resort automatically to address “03”. Place the locomotive on the main line with power, and dial “03” on your throttle. At that point, the locomotive should move if the decoder and installation are good.
Sometimes, our understanding of instructions is wrong, and we don’t adjust with re-reading. You might have to put the manual aside for a day, and then go back and read it entirely once more. I say this because I have been fooled by some of Digitrax’s instructions, and when I went back I could see my error of interpretation. It may be the same for you,
If you pressed 0001 at the Address# prompt, you probably have set the address to 01. Try running the loco using that address. I am not completely familiar with the Prodigy Express but on the program track you should set CV #8 to a value of 8, this will reset the Digitrax decoder to factory default. Then attempt to operate the loco using address 03. It should operate. If it does, then try setting the actual address again.
