Problem w/ Email Notifications of Replies to Postings ???

Is there a problem with the email notification of replies to postings recently or is it just me?

I haven’t received any email notifications in about a week. They started “dwindling off” some time last week as opposed to just stopping outright. But I haven’t received anything at all this week.

To the best of my knowledge I haven’t changed any of my settings and they’re not appearing in my email spam folder or other folders (i.e. the “filter” I have for them isn’t broken).

Anybody else having this issue?

Yeah, I’m experiencing the same issue for the last few days. I’m dreading the day when the hundreds of messages will be dumped on me all at once.

I use those emails to know when posts I’m following get updated.

Several posts relating to this problem. I have not gotten any emails from the forums either.

Hope someone from MR or one of the administrators comes on and lets everybody know what is going on and when it will be fixed or what needs to be done to get them.

Same problem hear!!! [sigh] Last e-mail notification was on Feb 5, 2010 at 5:41 PM. Of course, I did all the usual stuff – reboot, checked my forum settings, ran all of my XP and System Mechanic tools – with no results.

As a matter of fact, I started a thread about an hour ago. This thread had been pushed to page 2 and didn’t see it. The post was a very polite and inquisitive – nothing hostile and definitely not a Flame, just a couple frown type faces. [sigh]

Went to check, to see if there were any replies, especially to see if one the moderators or MR staff had replied.

The response was very surprising. The entire POST (thread) had been deleted – not just moved to this earlier thread, like usually happens – BUT RUDLY DELETED. [:(]

Any word when this e-mail issue will be resolved – and we can once again receive e-mail updates on posts to the forum? [:)]

Just received 179 messages. Presumably, then, the problem has been fixed.

Wade just informed me that sometimes “e-mails get ‘bound-up’ in the webserver” so he would need to reboot the server to fix the problem. That should happen on Monday sometime (more towards off hours) when Wade’s back at work.

Mark, I’m just guessing but Wade may have performed a “temporary fix” to purge e-mails from the server. Hence, the reason you found 179 of them in your mailbox.

Great! Now we can expect another tsunami of email messages on Monday.

EDIT – I’m now receiving email messages as they originate, so, the situation seems to have been fixed, at least for me.

I’m getting mail again too-- dunno about updates yet since I haven’t posted anything since, but if it’s working for Mark I’m sure its working for me too.
