I have a main computer and a lap top. They both have the same windows 7 platform but I can’t post from the PC but I can from the lap top. Any solutions or just use the lap top. And why does it take so long to post on this forum?
I had the same problem with this Windows 7 laptop today. A search suggested turning on “compatibility view”, under the browser Tools menu. It worked for me. It also solved the issue that I could not use the cursor to edit where I wanted in the text. It looks like the browser will use compatibility view for this site as it keeps it in a list. (I have no earthly idea what any of this means, but it works).
If Compatibility View is turned on in IE7 it essentially means “Act like I’m using IE6”
Compatibility view (icon to the right of the address bar - looks like a torn piece of paper) should take care of your problem. Click it only once. Clicking twice will turn it on then back off. If it doesn’t work you can change to another browser. The world doesn’t end just because IE doesn’t work. I use Firefox as my primary browser and Opera as a backup. IE just takes up space on my hard drive.
Thank you. My problem solved and frustration level back down to near norm.al
Internet Explorer is up to version 9.
Glad you got things fixed quickly. It took about two weeks for me to get access back on my primary computer. Kalmbach advised that I had a corrupted cookie, but I’d dumped all at least twice before I was able to post again. In my case, I was using Firefox 9.0.1 on XP machines on both, but the PC was toast, while the laptop worked all along. Keep trying is all I can say. YMMV
I couldn’t post either. Now I can with that fix.
Maybe I can post now also.
Thanks for bringing this up. I just joined the MRR forum last week and I haven’t been able to post anything until now. I thought it had something to do with needing my first post approved, but it turns out it was my browser.
Thanks again–Chuck
