For the last week I’ve been unable to log in using my PC. I’m using Windows 10 and the latest version of Firefox.
i am able to access the forum on my iPhone using Firefox for iOS.
When I hover the curser over the log in button I read javascript void in the lower left hand corner of the screen. Nothing has changed in the settings on my end. Anyone have any insight?
Are you running the latest version of Java? The latest version of Firefox is now 50.0.

I had trouble with the forums using Firefox. I switched to google Chrome and everything works fine.

I was having the same problems, Dave, and also switched to Chrome.
However, I just now upgraded my Firefox to version 50, and once I shovelled a few scoopfuls of coal into my computer (still running XP), it seems to be working well again on this site.

If you are using a cookie blocker it won’t work. I have to momentarily turn on “accept cookies”. I’m running Firefox 50.0 in Windows 10.

The easiest way is to upgrade Firefox is to go to Help on the top menu and click on About, it does the latest upgrade automatically.

After Mel posted I decided (because I have no faith in computers) to go back and update Firefox again. Well, I discovered that, despite the update just done a few minutes before, I didn’t have Firefox version 50.0. It was showing version 43.7 or there abouts. It took two more attempts to update Firefox to version 50.0. Unless I had known what the most recent version was I would have merrily gone about my business thinking that I was up to date. That is poor design.
Also, there is no “Help” icon. There is only a “?”, and even after it might have dawned on me that the “?” was the Help icon, what spin of logic suggests that I should go to “About Firefox” to update the program? Why not just put in an “Update Program” icon?
I’m not sure who is dumber - me or the web designers.[D)][D)][D)][D)][D)][|(]
There, enough ranting. Now I’m going back to Chrome.

Could be worse. At least you don’t have to reboot multiple times to do a simple upgrade ala Winders. [:P]

Sorry about that Dave, I’m using Firefox Classic Addon. It still has all the old goodies. The old menu is still on the top. I’m one of those if it isn’t broke don’t fix it guys. I’ve used the Firefox Classic Addon ever since they dropped Classic back about version 20. I‘m too old for change!

If you regularly use Firefox it generally downloads and updates to the most recent version automatically. So, you don’t even need to click on “Help” and “About Firefox” in your menu bar for that to happen. Since I use Firefox all the time it’s always up-to-date.
I’ve tried Chrome, IE, and Edge but I always go back to Firefox for its conveniences and format. Its AdBlock Plus is worth it alone. [Y]

Sometimes you need to “refresh” Firefox You get there from the Help - Troubleshooting menu. You might try restart Firefox without add-on’s first. I had a problem with Ad Blocker suddenly blocking previously acceptable video streams.
A refresh may require you to reinstall any add in’s you have.
Sometimes the easiest way to solve a computer problem is to just google your exact question BUT go to a website run by a reputable company you know like microsoft.com, or apple or mozilla. They are numerous websites that want you to download (or buy) their software which is filled with spyware.
Today I uninstalled Java and reinstalled it to make sure I was using the latest version.
I accept cookies in the firefox settings. Made certain I am running Firefox 50.
Turned off ad blocker plus on this site.
Still doesn’t work on the PC. It’s not just the forum I am getting it across the board on Kalmbach. I ordered my copy of the LCL book from Amazon because I couldn’t get the site to work.
I don’t have this problem anywhere else on the web. I’m at a loss.

That would make sense. I rarely go back to Firefox. In fact, the only times I have used it in the last couple of years was to visit the Ngineering website, which doesn’t play nice with Chrome.

I suspect even though you have disabled AdBlock on this site, i bet you didnt click on the ‘content blocker’ part of AdBlock that still runs even though AdBlock is off.

When installing for first time, updating Java, or you just want to know, you can always check the Java version your using (without uninstal and reinstall) by going here…

When using Flash, or updating it, you can check to see if its working just by going to Youtube. If the videos play, your Flash is working. If not, Youtube will tell you to get Flash or update it.

Flash has all kinds of security issues. Google and others are doing everything in their power to kill it. YouTube no longer requires Flash if the user’s browser has an HTML5 player built in or added on.
