Just bought 10 Walthers Switches new and inproved for dcc no problem with 8 worked great the other 2 had a problem. Couldn’t get either switch to work in the straight directions. Both worked on the turnout side. When I say they didn’t work the didn’t have any power in them as soon as I passed the frog everything went dead. no power what so ever has anyone else came across this?
If 8 worked perfectly and 2 did not, that almost certainly leads to the conclusion that those two are at fault, not the modeler. Given the circumstances, I would just return them for new ones.

Try putting insulators in on the tracks past the frog. You may be creating a short from the rails attached to the straight and diverging tracks. The easiest way to insulate is to cut a gap in the rails, CA glue in some styrene to fill the gap, and once the glue dries, whittle down the styrene with a hobby knife to shape it to the railhead …chuck
Chuck’s idea makes sense but before you cut gaps in the rails, I would first take out a known good turnout (switch) and put the faulty one in its place to see if the problem is the Walthers turnout or your track work. If the faulty one works in the new spot, then you know it is not the turnout casuing the problem.
Since these are all newly purchased turnouts, better not to void the warranty. Once you cut those gaps, there is no returning them if they are faulty.

Also check the continuity and jumper connection(s) on the underside from the outer rail(s) to the corresponding rails that converge at the frog. I have come across several of these turnouts where one or more of the jumpers were not solidly connected. A bad solder joint could cause the symptom you describe. Re-soldering or supplemental jumper would solve that problem.
