I’m sure it’s explained somewhere on the website but I can’t find it. I know you can include a link to a third party file service but all the post pics I’ve seen here are scaled jpegs.
Thanks in advance!

Photobucket works good for posting photos here… upload your photos on their site, then you can copy the link for posting pics here, you just have to click the HTML button when you post and put the link in it and the photo will show up in your post.
Once you have the URL of the photo click on the “” icon and place the URL into that field. Doing so will allow that image to show up. As posted, PhotoBucket and other free photo hosting sites are great places to upload your photos and then show them in posts here.
You can do a forum search for post photos for more info.
Use You Tube for videos.
Figure out what you want for albums in Photo Bucket. You can easily lose track of where a photo is as this can get addictive.

As has been said that to upload pictures you must create a host such as PHOTOBUCKET www.photobucket.com It is free. After you create your account you merely click on the upload button and then select the picture you want to upload from your computer.
Now you are ready to post that picture to your thread.
There are two ways to insert the picture. The way I like to do it is to click on the direct link box under the picture on photobucket. This automatically copies the link. Then you go to the thread and there is a bar across the top. One of the icons is green and looks like film. Click on this and a window will open with a box to paste the URL that you got from photobucket.
When you click on insert the picture will show up on the thread wherever your cursor is.
I try to have the cursor placed so that I have space above and below the inserted picture.
The second way is to click on image under your picture on photobucket and paste it in your post.
The first way you see the picture before you post and the second after you post.
It’s your choice.
It sounds like a big deal but it is actually simple once you get the hang of it.
Hope this helps
Bob
I keep a file in Word (over 20 pages long!) with the filenames of the photos and drawings on the Railimages webspace. Railimes has an album but I like to keep mine available in my own “system” to drop into my posts.
I head up my page with a table of contents for the way I organize MY visuals. (Your druthers may vary and will probably bsuit you better…) I use search function for topic in my table of contents to zip down to where I have pix under that topic.
table of contents:
Avenue C/ Magnolia Jct (Houston, within 1 block of childhood home)
Houston railroad scenes
Johnston/ East Texas woods layout (and related prototype scenes)
KK-prototype (layout currently under construction)
KK-plan
Really appreciate the info and thanks to everyone for taking time to reply. Next stop - Photobucket!.
Thanks again!![Y]
