prodigy advance extension boxes

We have a Prodigy Advance system. I bought 3 extension boxes with 2 outlets and a second hand held which is a Prodigy Advance Squared. We connected the cable from the command station to the first box and from there to the second box and on to the third. If we take a handheld from one box and plug both into one it causes one of the handhelds to show “svda” and lose control. If you unplug this controller you will regain control but the other one looses it. This was the way the instructions said to connect these extension boxes. If I run from the command station direct to each extension box it works OK but there are only 3 places on the command station and we would like to have more outlets. Have I just got faulty extension boxes? Should I just try and find different outlets from an electronic store instead? Anyone else have similar problems?

Also one of the extension boxes will only work right on one outlet, if you plug into the other outlet everything shows up on the display but nothing happens.

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance

Did you use one with a power cord?

Barry,

Did you program the Cab Address into each of the cabs? The cabs are delivered from the factory set to address 1. Look at section 2 of you manual to verify the address in each cab and it also show how to change them. The manual is also ‘on-line’ at:

The original is cab #1, the advance squared is cab #2.

The cables are what came with the boxes. They are not the booster boxes recommended at 5 outlets.

There are some compatibility issues between the Advance and Advance Squared system.

Have you tried looking at the Prodigy Adv. Tips and Tricks notes from MRC (found here)?
