After much searching through literature on dcc systems i am leaning towards the prodigy advanced squared mainly because of price and ease of use.Wholesale trains has it for $177(cheapest on the web).One question though,as i live in australia i would like to know if the power supply that comes with it can be used here,our power is rated at 220/240 volts.Can it be switched like the Powercab power supply.Thanks for any help
Mine can’t. I think you need to go direct to MRC with your question. I would not trust someone else’s info on something that important. If you have a good local shop you deal wwith, see if they know.
Perisher, when I found that I needed a power supply for my Walthers electronic turntable, I looked locally first. I called an electronics supplier, someone who would supply elecrical repair shops, and asked them if they had them. Yes, they sure did, and could order specially if my need was unique. However, this guy happened to have a used one that he had just tested, and was willing to sell it for $18. This was for a 16.8 volt AC one that provided the amperage minimum specified by Walthers.
So, it may be worth your while to: satisfy yourself that you have the actual parameters, and;
b. look around for something that might already be available in your currency…no import duty or shipping costs.
Just a suggestion.
