I finally got my issue and after reading all the hoopala, I wasn’t sure what to expect. It’s a great issue.
I’ve always admired John Potter’s prewar layout that was filmed by TM over ten years ago. To see updated coverage in CTT was a treat. Gotta have one of those AF Green Diamonds.
The hi rail layout by Dale Berger is spectacular. Realistic, organized, not too crowded, and not too sparse. All the right chemistry. It ranks with the finer hi rail pikes I’ve seen (in print) like Bengerts RR Express and T Lash’s empire.
I have a Reading T-1 with a broke tether so the broke tether article alone paid for the issue.
I’m a postwar collector but the article on modern era Trainmasters hit home anyway. It was interesting reading. I’ve always wanted an SP and SF. The prices seem to of come down to more reasonable levels. No rubber bands to break, no electronics to fry, just pure power and ohhh that field wound pullmore smell.
Again, Stan Trorzniec (SP?) gives us some great scenery tips. I gotta pick up his latest layout building book one of these days.
