the horn needs some improvment. but the diesel sounds nice.
Fine piece of craftsmanship
It´s amazing.Woh!!! I think bettween the Aerotrain and theTurbotrain but this train had installed sound .I believe the dissition it´s clear.
nice looking train, how much does it sell for?
I,m from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, And used to watch the turbo train go by and I will say, This model looks great sounds great and will be lots of fun on your layout, Enjoy!!!
It isn’t the best looking train I’ve seen (prototype) but one can actually “highball” prototypically with the model. I agree with another poster- the horn sounds like it does need work. Other than that, it’s a nice piece.
Looks like a beautifully executed model, in keeping with the high standards of Rapido. I must admit though, that at $500, the “lurching at speeds below 15mph” referred to in the review is a bit disconcerting.
Well, that is an interesting bit of gear, it would be nice to hear the engine sound up closer at idle and during acceleration. I have never seen one in real life, so it looks a bit like something someone wanted to make but didn’t, I wonder if I could see some photo’s of the real thing somewhere? Anyway, it does look good cruising through the countryside on the MR&T.
I travelled on the Rapido a number of times, it was an elegant and comfortable way to travel, it is too bad they didn’t keep developing our passenger trains along these lines, we might have a TGV train by now.
I thought it was a nice looking train set i would be interested in buying one in the future. Anthony Harris
Wonderful piece. Sure would buy it in oscale
If that’s the scale starting speed, I hope all those HO passengers were sitting securely in their seats. Hopefully after some run-in time it will start out smoother. I’d hate to think my N-scale looks more prototypical starting from a dead stop than it’s bigger brother. Aside from that, it’s a good-looking train.
Great video of a nice model! I especially like the authentic recordings…station announcements and door-closing alarms! Good Stuff!
Looks like a great model. I like the sounds that are demonstrated on the video.
I love these videos! I have to agree that the slow speed lurching is an opportunity for improvement. 'That said, it is a nice looking model and a fun change up from the usual products. The sound seems decent in the video and the speed would be a blast. Let’s get two and have a race.
A nice looking model but the operation does not compare to the mechanisms of the Concor Aero Train and M-10,000.
Will there be a N-scale version ?
Ra-pee-do not Rapid-o
It is interesting but I think it needs a big layout to look its best. This is the FIRST sound equipped thing that I’ve heard. Is this what sound equipped thing sound like? It sounds so tinny! I sure hope that my Athearn Genesis Big Boy sounds better!
