Ok, Hey everyone! I got the P2K I was talking about the other day running and boy DOES it run good (in 00) and boy DID it run good (in 03). Now I got it running so I let it run on my layout for a couple hours to make sure there would be no problems. Well there is it just stopped running but if I move the jumper plug to DC it runs great. I decided I would just reset it using CV8…well I went to try to do it on my programming track and all I get is d nd, and it just wont read or write. Thanks, Mike
I am not sure what you want it to do…
Does it still respond to 03? Did you try setting a 4 digit address to it? What have you done…exactly?
There are steps to program a sound decoder…
Also, you mention an Atlas decoder in your title and a P2K loco in your post…I am a bit confused. What exactly do you have?

Ok, this is a non-sound unit. It is a P2K and I dropped in a after market Atlas Board 2- function decoder. It won’t respond in 03 but if I move the jumper plug it moves fine. And I tried to reset it using CV8, it only kept saying D DN. Mike
This is a bottom end Lenz decoder. Ive had the same issues with their N scale decoders as well.
IIRC, the reset isnt CV8=8…it is something else…try CV8=33.
David B
It won’t even read the decoder it is just saying D ND, so I am not sure. Mike
Like I said before, this is typical behaviour for this loco.
Try writing CV8=33 in Page mode and that should reset the decoder.
