I have an Intermountain F unit with sound and DCC, and I can’t get it programmed , so how do I find out which number its programmed to?
Try rephrasing your question
Are you asking what the default number of the loco is ?
If so the answer is 03
Try posting your question on the Electronics and DCC forum.
Which DCC system do you have?
Depending on the DCC system you’re using, you may need to reset CV 29 to tell the decoder that you want to use a long address.
All decoders come from the factory set on address 3. If you’re trying to reset it to the engine number, and that number is above 100, set CV 29 to a value of 34 after you program the new address into it.
Be aware, however, that some of the cheaper DCC systems will not let you reset a CV so you may be stuck having to use address 3.
Chuck, that would be above 127 if memory serves me. But you may have identified this poster’s problem with the CV 29 set to accept an input address above that number. I was not aware than any currently available system would not allow address reprogramming. Even the EZ-Command does that if I recall, but not the other CV’s such as #'s 2 and on up.
