It’s been quite a while since I posted much less even visited the forum. What have I been doing ?
Took a month off from work … and …
Sept 22 - One week into vacation. This is the backend of lower level staging with return loop going around Round Top in the lower left. Despite my original plan of only putting track/ballast on this level, I started messing around with foam and plaster-of-paris. Ok … this is good practice and fun, so let’s keep going.
Oct 9th - Completed ballasting most of the staging yard. That cream colored wall section (on the right in the top photo) had to go, so on goes some sky, some clouds and some mountains ( we call them hills here in Texas [:)] ) and that Walthers transmission tower set - guess where it is going off on the right … future project = power plant … sort of modeled after the LCRA power plant in Fayetteville Tx. Let’s see, they need coal … so, another future project … need a couple of more stubs …
Rule: once you start scenic’ng …
Oct 11th - Last week of vac[:(]. My good friend, Don Z commented that it is a shame with all this work that this is a staging only level … no operations … so, with Don’s expert advice and skills wrecked out the track at the beginning of the return loop and layed in two businesses; Texas Fuel w/ inbound/outbound tracks, an open air loading dock (no name yet) and was able to put in a passing siding.
Now, what was I doing … oh yeah … scenery, ballasting and now structures.
The fun never ends.
