Progress Rail Services to Repower Pacific Harbor Line with Cat Engines

__ALBERTVILLE, Ala., & LOS ANGELES / LONG BEACH, Nov. 16–__Progress Rail Services Corporation (Progress Rail), a wholly owned subsidiary of Caterpillar Inc., and Pacific Harbor Line Inc. (PHL) announced today that the parties have entered into a contract for Progress Rail to repower 16 Tier 2 locomotives with newer, lower emissions Tier 3 Cat engines for operation in the ports of and . The adjoining ports are the busiest container ports in Fox.

The locomotives will be repowered in Progress Rail Services’ , facility during 2011.United States and the eighth busiest container ports in the world.

Progress Rail…Glad to see / read of their reaching out and getting business. They are the Cat. subsidiary that are now in process of setting up business in the mammoth former ABB facility here in Muncie.

The change should not be large since the locomotives are already CAT powered.
