Project railroad: Cut track fitter sections
Excellent tutorial on cutting tubular track, I needed this video 30 years ago. I wish I would have used gloves then, for sure I will use gloves now because your hands will get sore.
Many many years ago, as a teenage layout builder, before I learned about hack saws and power tools, I used long finishing nails (after snipping off their heads and filing to remove rough edges) in lieu of fitter sections to bridge short gaps between O gauge tracks. The improvision works well but only for very short gaps.
Good job on a short but informative video.Helpful hints.
I would love to see him cutting the track to see the small amount of frustration he mentions LOL!
Very good information. What about other types of track? Fast track, Real Track create other problems.
I use a abrasive cut off wheel.Fast and neat.
