HO Shelf layout, (2’ X 8’) DCC/Sound, 50’s era. Not completed yet. Part of waterfront scene. The buldings here were scratch built for my previous layout. Spent so much time building them, had to saved them for use on this layout. The background buildings were not scratch built. No figures yet but hope to have a bunch of activity soon. Finally get a chance to do some super deailing.
Lookin’ good! May I suggest a few minutes with brushes and dry chalk weathering on the new structures? That’ll give the place a “lived in” look to match your scratchbuilt structures. Keep up the good work–and keep us posted with more photos as you make progress.
I also have a long way to go on my shelf layout. This is the first section 80" x 32" on a hollow core door. The railroad will be a “L” shape. Click on photos to enlarge! Also check out the links below for more photos of this layout.
I am glad I am not the only one doing a shelf layout! By the way, wired my turntable tonight and it works great. Guessed right on the wireing the first time. LOL[:)]
Thank you again for the nice comments. I use Black ink and alcohol to weather the wood. Will try it on the background Building also one of these . Want everything to look old.
