Anyone have an idea how to make the seam of propane tanks go away? When I glued the Walthers propane tanks together they lleave a seam that doesn’t look right. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I used the edge of my exacto knife and scraped backwards across the length of it. You get it down clean and then use some green puddy and when it’s dry, sand it smooth. Work gently or you’ll break the seam open again…

Depending on the scale, and the size of the tank, the welds on prototype tanks are visable.
I bet he’s talking about a painted/decaled kit. Something you probably wouldn’t want to putty and sand without ruining the paint. I have the same problem with some Walthers tank cars. I was thinkig about doing the putty/sanding thing and then masking off all the decals and repainting the whole car black. (or probably white in your case) I haven’t tried it yet, but I couldn’t think of anything else.
Micro-Mesh makes an excellent plastic polishing system which, if used following the instructions, will virtually make the seams disappear. Available from Micro-Mark.
Actually I was refering to the walthers central gas and supply. The tanks are ho scale about 10 inches long.I guess I’m looking for a realistic texture to apply to the tanks that is paintable. That should hide the seams just fine. thanks agian for the responses.
