Proper coupler for NYC engine

Hi all, I am restoring an HO scale New York Central Class P-2 Electric and would like to know what type of Coupler system would fit this engine? I would like to use Kadee but have no idea which type to purchase. Thanks for your help, Regards, Gary

It depends on where the coupler mounting area sits. If it’s low, you need a coupler with a raised head. If it’s high, a low head is needed. Do you have anything to compare it to, like a freight car?

Go to the Kadee site and look around. Do some measurements.

Purchase a Kadee #205 guage, follow the instructions. With it and calipers, you will be able to determine the correct coupler for any application.

Thanks to all.

I will get the gauge and go from there.

Kadee’s website has a conversion listing for hundreds of models, listed by manufacture.
