I bought a 260E from Ebay, TinPlate deal, NIB. Anything special about the batteries or anything else before I fire this up? I guess it cannot be controlled from the hand held DCS unit except in conventional mode. Can it be used with a transformer as well? I have a couple of the new transformers that came with MTH sets. Are you sure it is a Proto 1 engine? I believe that MTH offers both command and conventional versions.
I’d be sure to put a fresh battery in it before trying to start it up (a point well proven when I recently fired up a PS-1 Daylight that had been sitting motionless for ± 7 years).
