Proto 2000 080 switcher

I have 2 of these and the lights do not work in either diection.These are no sound units yet wiring is in place for lights.

These units have a circuitboard in the tender that plugs into a DCC type plug. The circuitboard uses an 8 diode circuit that provides directional lighting for front and rear 1 1/2V bulbs.

Are these units both new? Did the lights ever work for you?

The bulbs could be burnt out.
Bulbs could be missing or disconnected.
Maybe the circuit board was modified or removed?

[#ditto] This unit uses 1.5V light bulbs from the factory, so any re-wiring work that was done could instantly burn them out. I learned the hard way.

If you ran it on DCC and didn’t use the decoder designed for P2Ks, you’re out of luck. I put a Digitrax DH123 in my P2K 2-8-4 and burned out the blubs. I believe what is needed is a DH163LO?
