Help…
I want to do some maintenance on my P2K’s but cannot remove the fuel tanks to get at the remaining weight/chassis screws. The info. which came with them does not cover this.
Any experience doing this out there??
Thanks,
Tim

It’s taped onto the frame with double sided tape. All you have to do is pull the tank straight down and it will come off.[:D] The only problem is after you’ve done this a couple times, you have to replace the tape, or drill a hole for a screw to keep it from falling off.
Just be careful if it doesn’t come right off even w/ a bit of wiggleing. Two of my SD50s were a bear to remove. I had to pry w/ a small screwdriver. Some under frame details and bell were knocked off. This was most likely due to age. I got 3 Chessie units when they first were released.
