Sorry this such a simple question but I am new. How do you get the side covers off the trucks on P2K 12 wheel drive?
My new E-6 chassis is a undercoated verson with black trucks side covers. I used a Santa Fe War Bonnet dummie E-6 on the undercoated chassis, but trucks don’t match.
I want to pull the covers off the Dummy chassis and replace the ones that are black. PIC would help if it would not be a hassel.
Main thing is i don’t want to break anything, all of the 2K’s are under 3 months old.

If you mean the plastic side frames on the trucks, they can be pried off. I’m not sure about the 3-axle trucks, but on the P2K 2-axle trucks the side frames are held on by a plastic pin in the center of the frame. On the 3-axle trucks, there may be two plastic pins like on Athearn models, in between the axles. Carefully pry the side frames loose using a small screwdriver until you can see there the pin or pins are located, and then pry in that area.
Thanks for the time Cacole. I just found the answer as I was answering. Pic in a few minutes.

Just paint them silver with a fine brush.
This is what bug me.
It was the staple that held the side covers togather. While I was looking at it I pulled on the side covers they came off the pins easly , but would not clear the brakes.
I pulled the side covers down so the axel ends where out of the covers.
Next I pooped out the axels (first one I left them in and was harder). Used a flat tip screw driver and started in the center to pry off the brakes. Brakes where the hard part.
Then covers came off.
First set about 10 minutes, second took about 6 minutes but I was being care full.
Hope this will help some newbie like me later.
Cuda Ken, miss spelling again
