GBW main looking West into Green Bay (just behind my apartment). Yea, I got a little artsy.

I guess I’m not the only one who walks the tracks.

“Oh go mark a tie!”

“Mr. engineer! Mr. engineer! You forgot your lights on!!- IC 3106 doing the"Park Job” late Sunday night, prepping for Monday. I also have a short video (or two) I’m working on getting on utoob.

Well I finally found out the “rendering plant” down the road is the former Green Bay Soap Co. Does this mean the tank car is empty? Only second time I’ve seen a car with these caps off. They company also gets empty covered hoppers and hi-cube 50’ box cars.

Every year my trusty steed and I venture off to some very remote places hunting for Ghost of railroading from long ago. In the past we have gotten miles from the nearest paved road on what sometimes are nothing more than goat paths, barely passable. This year on our first day of exploring we ripped a tire to shreds on our first trip. Therefore we had to stay close to places where we could walk out, just in case we ruined another tire. So here are a few photo’s of this years trip. Accessible to all. Not as much fun as seeing things that most people miss through the remoteness of the places usually visited.

My trusty steed, looking a little sheepish as if saying sorry about the tire.

This bridge is on the KVR and is now part of the Trans Canada Trail and used by cyclist and hikers.

Standing next to it is this very old telegraph pole. How many messages have gone past these insulators informing loved ones of a birth or the news of someone killed in a war on the other side of the world.

I have seen what looks like a whole forest being washed down this river in the high water of winter. Note the steel on the pier to protect it from whatever might hit it.

How many trains, people and freight have these feet supported over the years?

This guy once had a career working hard directing trains. In retirement he directs travelers on their way.

Back to the truck, I think I hear a Ghost blowing its whistle down there around the be

How does a 96 year old narrow gage locomotive with no air brakes make it down a steep grade? 5 conductors on the brake wheels and another old locomotive on the back, note the whistle signals (ignore the big blue thing on the front and the happy music unless you are 7 years old or less[:D]).
