Is there any sort of definitive index on line for all prototype trains. For example, say I input GP -20 and it tells me all about production info and how they were used and which lines bought them and dates or service?

I haven’t found anything online but you can get alot of proto info in the Diesel Spotters Guide. You’ll want the first one published by Jerry A. Pinkepank. I have one in front of me right now and it gives spotting features, production dates and which lines bought them. The first ones I believe are out of production but you can still find them a flea markets. Hope this helps.
