I removed the bars on the inside of my models of my Silverliner V’s and single unit Arrow III’s for a more prototypical look. Do you have any suggestions on what material, i.e “styrene” I can use for tabs glued to the inside of the shell so I can drill holes through the undercarriages and the tabs to secure the undercarriage similar to the original married pair kits.
Alloboard,
Can you take some photos of one of your disassembled cars and post them? Would be helpful if we could see what you’re dealing with.
From your description, styrene is a logical choice. The thickness should be equal to or thicker than the plastic material you are drilling through. Are you considering installing threaded inserts on top of the tabs for machine screws?
