Prototypical

If you can do it in HO, it can be done in 1:1.

None of my little plastic policemen can do that.

When I was a kid one of the neighbors had a teenage boy whose jalopy could only be started that way. Fortunately they lived near the crest of a slight hill.

Did he ever miss the jump into the door? Or was the car parked on the slope?

I had a 54 Ford 6 volt system V8 that was like that. But I could start it myself, a little push and throw it in second gear and I’m off. It just did not want to start when it was hot.

The fun day’s! [(-D]

Jeff,

Well I will freely admit, that the engines, piston compression rings had a lot to do with it not starting when hot. But that’s another story. [(-D]

I could start my '68 MGB in about 50 ft on flat ground when the electrical system messed up, which being Lucas happened regularly. However, in fairness to Lucas, the parts that failed routinely were actually made by Chrysler! They were the diodes in the alternator rectifier pack.

OH the memories![(-D]

Had a '62 Healey that had the same problem, especially when it rained, which was often in Vancouver. Was never late for work tho.

One can never tell now “real” a picture, but how easily we forget the mechanical advantage of steel wheels on a steel rail, and then throw in roller bearings to boot.
