My first HO engine was a Atlas Master F-M H16-44 in PRR paint with the number 8808. I know a prototype exsisted and I am looking for some decent pictures and a history of the loco and would like to know what happened to it.

The info I found on this unit is classed as an FS16m. Assighned to the Pittsburgh region. Equiped with cab signals , M.U., and trainphone.

Thanks that helps alot now I need to go find the super detailing parts for it and get the trainphone equipment for the loco. But now does anyone know what happpened to the loco?
I’m not sure if this engine made it to Penn Central. PC only had one ex-PRR H16-44, which was renumbered to 5158. Here it is in Chicago in 1969: http://rr-fallenflags.org/pc/pc5158g.jpg
PC had other H16-44s, from both the New Haven (5160-5174) and New York Central (5100-5112). IIRC, the rest of these were scrapped in the early 1970s.

I thought I should add some more info… The Penn Central Bi-Annual says that PRR 8808 was renumbered to 5151 in 1966, and that all H16-44s were retired in 1970. I think they were all scrapped that year as well. Well, except for one ex-NH unit. According to Penn Central Power, that one lasted until 1971 in the Altoona deadline.
