PRR T1 Paint Schemes. Does anyone have information for me?

Hi There…Im about to finish my first Bowser Loco…a PRR T1. I was wondering what scheme(s) that that particular locomotive went through.

Thanks in advance.

If this link works, you should get a sample. Sorry that I could not find a better photo.

You may have to root around in the site to find the Pennsy system photos, but it is worth it.

Bruncswick green colour?Like GG-1 locomotiv? You are talking about colourschema?

The PRR T1 was not around for very long. All the books and pictures I have show all the same paint scheme. Brunswick green with gold/yellow san serif lettering and numbers.

To the best of my knowledge, all T1 Duplexes were painted in the standard “Dark Green Locomotive Enamel” (Brunswick Green), though it’s just faintly possible that there might have ben one done in Tuscan Red. If in doubt, Brunswick Green is a good choice.

Thanks for all your help. Seems as though the Brunswick was the standard scheme for this loco.

This is the best photo I could come up with.

And for thoes of up who are curious…here is what I have to paint…

I am aware the BLI has a T1 offering, but this way I got to build the kit myself and am enjoying this loco…boy is it heavy! Does anyone know how to ‘quite’ up a Bowser…ah…but alas…thats another thread.

Cheers…

David

All were Brunswick Green. I have never seen anything that would indicate one was Tuscan red except for the one somebody is trying to sell on E Bay. The tender deck is freight car red - close to iron oxide. The diapraghm between the engine and tender should be black if you install it. The Keystone is Toulidine red. Also on the fireman side of the nose is a door that should be scratched into the metal. That is how the poor guy who got the job unbolted the smokebox door for servicing. the color picture leaving Harrisburg should show it if you blow it up some. Nice model!
